ABSENT: none
FINANCE DIRECTOR TINA LANNES
Mayor Klecker asked if there were any further questions from the Council regarding the proposed Tax Levy.
Council member Vetsch had concerns with the City’s portion of property taxes that appear to be going up in 2009.
Finance Director Lannes reminded the Council that during the Budget Workshop, the average amount of property taxes would about $35.00.
Council wanted to make sure that staff knew to do their best to keep expenses down in 2009, which staff acknowledged the Council’s request to keep the 2009 expenses down. Staff reported that the employees are very conscientious in the purchases that are made, in which staff shops around for the best price and value. Kruse continued by stating that employees do not spend the money just because there are funds in the budget.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no one from the public to comment on their tax valuations.
