Notice of Filing for City Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that filing for Mayor and City Council will open Tuesday, August 3 at 8:00 a.m. and close Tuesday, August 17 at 5:00 p.m.. OFFICES TO BE FILLED: One (1) Mayoral position, which serves a two-year term and two (2) Council member positions, which serve a four-year term. All terms begin January 1, 2011.

Affidavits of Candidacy will be available and received Monday through Thursday beginning Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Albertville City Hall, 5959 Main Avenue NE, during regular business hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010. You must state as to which seat or position that you are filing for on your Affidavit.

The following criteria must be met for the mayor or council seats. The candidate:

• must be an eligible voter;
• has no other affidavit on file as a candidate for any office at the general election;
• is, or will be on assuming office, 21 years of age or more;
• will have maintained residence in the City of Albertville for 30 days before the election; and
• must pay the $2.00 filing fee at the time of the filing.

The Election for these City Offices will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the City of Albertville, County of Wright, State of Minnesota between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
