A newsletter is published every-other month is available that lists activities and events sponsored by the Center. What types of programs are offered at the Senior Center?
Programs are offered on varied activities, trips, health, education and recreation.
The Center is a place for seniors to meet others, and gather for fun and information.
Is there a charge to belong to the Senior Center?
No. There are no membership fees. The Center is a joint program of the City
of St. Michael, the City of Albertville, the City of Hanover and Senior Community
Services. The programming is done by staff of Senior Community Services, which
is a United Way Agency. Volunteers are needed to assist with programs and monetary
donations are always appreciated.
Do you have to be a resident of Albertville or St. Michael to participate
in the Senior Center’s programs?
No, the Center is open to anyone and will focus on serving the communities and
surrounding areas of Albertville, Hanover and St. Michael.
Is there a senior dining program in Albertville?
There is no senior dining program in Albertville; however, Albertville seniors
are welcome to participate in the 12 noon meals are served at the Senior Center
located within the St. Michael City Center at 11800 Town Center Drive NE, Suite
200 in St. Michael on Tuesday through Friday. The cost is $3.50. Reservations
are needed one day before the meal by calling the Center at 763-497-8900. Check

to find out about monthly meals that are held at the Albertville City Hall located
at 5959 Main Avenue NE, in the Multi-purpose room.
Is there a Meals-on-Wheels program?
Arrangements for home delivery of meals can be made by calling the Crow River
Senior Center at 763-497-8900.
Is there a senior transportation service?
Rides are available through the following services:

This program is available for Wright County residents over 60 years of age to medical facilities and pharmacies.
Faith in Action Program (Wright County) 763-218-3520
Great River Area Faith In Action (Sherburne County) 763-263-4277
Volunteer drivers are needed for both of these services. If you would like
to volunteer, contact the Center for more information.
There are several transportation alternatives available. Contact the Center
at 497-8900 or Central Minnesota Council on Aging at 1-800-333-2433 or 320-654-5319.
Are Health Clinics offered in St. Michael and Albertville?
Yes, a 60+ Health Clinic is offered every other month at the Ridge Apartments
Community Room, 698 Ridge Dr. SE. They offer toenail trimming for a $15 fee.
The service is offered by Wright County Public Health. There is a Clinic in
Albertville that may offer medical opportunities.
Free blood pressure screenings are offered at the Senior Center on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
Does the WOW (Wellness-on-Wheels) van visits the Senior Center in St.
Michael?
Yes, the van is in St. Michael in the parking lot of the Colonial Mall on the
third Wednesday of each month from 2 to 6 PM, and in Albertville in DJ's Harware
parking lot on the first Tuesday of the month from 2 to 6 PM. The services include
immunizations, health & wellness screening and health information. For more

Are senior driving classes offered?
Daytime classes are offered at the St. Michael Senior Center at 763-497-8900
Evening classes are offered through STMA Community Education at 763-497-6550

Is AARP Tax Aide available in St. Michael or Albertville?
Help with income tax is available at the Senior Center located in St. Michael
during the months of February through April. This is a free service. Call the
Center to schedule an appointment.
Are trips offered through the Senior Center?
Yes, day trips are offered through the Center. There is information on trips
offered at the Center or in the newsletter. Extended stay trips are offered
through Senior Community Services and information and brochures are available
at the Center. Additional day trips are offered through Community Education.
Casino trips are offered on the 3rd Wednesday of every other month. The bus leaves at 9 AM from the Countryside Cottages on Hillcrest Drive SE, St. Michael. For more information contract Betty Bermel at 497-2814.
Are there support groups offered in the area?
Wright County offers several support groups in the area. Some of the groups
include Parkinsons, Grief and Alzheimers. For more information call Jean Fobbe
