The Annual Albertville Friendly City Days is tentatively scheduled for the second full weekend in June
Albertville will kickoff the Friendly City Days with the Annual Garage Sales on Wednesday with the sales running through Saturday morning.
The carnival will open Thursday in the afternoon.
The Grande Day Parade is scheduled for Sunday around 1:30 p.m.

Albertville will be celebrating 19th Annual Friendly City Days in 2006. Friendly City Days is a celebration of the beginning of Summer that is hosted by many local organizations. Those involved in the celebration include: The Lions, Knights of Columbus, Lioness, Fire Department, Women of Today, Youth Hockey, Blue Line Hockey Club, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Runners Club and more. Most of the profits raised on the event by individual groups go back into our community. The activities for our celebrations are spread throughout the city with the main activities at the City Park. A men’s and women’s softball tournament will be hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Both a men’s and women’s volleyball tournament will be sponsored by the 152 Club. The Lioness sponsors a Style Show featuring all the Queen candidates. A city wide garage sale will be held during the week. The carnival will be open Thursday for the weekend and there is a Christian Concert tentatively scheduled for the evening. On Friday night the Blue Line Hockey Club will be hosting a pork chop dinner. Throughout the weekend there will be 4 live bands. Friday evening, a top regional band; starting Saturday afternoon a couple of local rock and roll bands; followed in the evening by a top rock and roll band. BOB 106 FM, and KRWC 1360 AM will be on hand with cash and prizes. There will be a huge fireworks display sponsored by local groups and businesses on Friday evening. Saturday along with a treasure hunt sponsored by the Women of Today, the Cub Scouts will be hosting a soap box derby and the Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a kid’s pedal tractor pull. The queen candidates will be selling rootbeer floats on Saturday and there will be a bingo sponsored by the Women of Today. The STMA running club is organizing a 5K run for Sunday morning. The grand day parade will be held Sunday afternoon featuring 6 area marching bands. The coronation of Miss Albertville and her court will follow the parade along with an award ceremony. More events will be added as we get closer to the celebration. This is just a sampling of some of the fun. All weekend there will be plenty of food available served by the Lions, Lioness, and the Youth Hockey Association.
