PLANNING & ZONING
The Planning Department is responsible for utilizing the City’s Comprehensive Plan, long range planning initiatives, zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations and code enforcement regulations. The Planning Commission guides the department, which is an advisory board to the City Council. The Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month or as needed.
The Commission uses various plans and studies to guide the development of the community and is responsible for conducting public hearings to receive public comments on development proposals, subdivision and zoning ordinance amendments, variances and conditional use permits.

The Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council and also consists of five members appointed by the City Council. The Planning Commission uses various plans and studies to guide the development of the community. This group meets at 7:00 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month, as needed, and is responsible for conducting public hearings to receive public comment on development proposals, subdivisions, zoning ordinance amendments, variances and conditional use permits.
